the soundtrack of my life

soundtrack 2 my life - KiD CuDi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca3hhFfFH-k
A little bit cliche, but I do love this song. I relate to it in many different ways. Sure I haven't experienced everything in this song, but I have experienced enough and at times I have missions no one can see and emotions do pour out of me often.

Hey Mama - Kanye West
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtpKqMpqGU0
A softer side of Kanye West. I come from a single mother so she is my entire world. We have been through everything together and no one really comes close to her in my heart and this song is just a tribute to a wonderful mother.

The Motto Remix - Drake, Lil Wayne and Tyga
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIpgHgAOYZ4
A fun upbeat dance mix, that states that the motto is Y.O.L.O meaning you only live once. I believe in this, that you do what you feel because we do only live once.

Lupe Back - Lupe Fiasco
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE69NeFcuHE
This song is the new hip hop rebellion anthem. I love everything about it, the intense opening the beat and everything he's saying. It's so true and I have always been rebellious in a way and I feel like I always will.

Roses - Kanye West
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZOy6t1vVtE
This song is about a loved one in the hopital, when I was 11 my grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer and my grandma was diagnosed with lymphoma so I know what it's like to not know if someone you love more than anything won't make it through the night. This song brings me back to those days.

We All Try - Frank Ocean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qe1klRkv-g
I believe that all people are genuinly good, and this  can be great and terrible at the same time. This song relates to many relationships with people I have had my entire life.

Top FIVE

These are my top 5 motivational songs, makes me happy to do whatever i'm doing going to work, running errands, homework and going to class

Focsued Wale ft KiD CuDi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9kdRQv4m5Q&ob=av2e
It is a song about doing what you love and to just stay focused no matter what anyone says these are two of my favorite artists and the fact that they are collaborating to make music again. The beat and the tempo is great and I just wanna dance.

Slight Work Wale ft Big Sean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wwsnnle6mo
Wale is one of my favorite musicians like I previously stated and this song just makes me wanna get up and go crazy and "work it". I love this song but can't listen to it and drive because of all the police sirens in the background.

Work out J. Cole
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PN78PS_QsM&ob=av2e
I love this song I like the beat and the Paula Abdul sample its a fun upbeat song. I love J. Cole he can be lyrically empowering and then have fun songs like this and puts his spin on his music with other people, this one is just my currrent favorite.

Make Me Proud Drake ft Nicki Minaj
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPD5R0KZnww
Who doesn't want someone to be proud of them? especially a man who appriciates how much a woman has been through and every woman wants their man to admit that "pussy runs everything". This song makes me feel better anyday and its just so catchy and happy!

Still Got It Tyga ft Drake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz_PqsfiRs4&feature=related
Any song with Drake and Tyga is guaranteed to be a good one but I relate to this one a lot. There are people in my life that I "still got it" for and to me this sounds like it's a great night

A Current Issue

I chose to write about the coverage of the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray the doctor accused of killing Micheal Jackson. No matter if you liked Micheal or not you're going to know at least one thing about this trial. Not only is it all over E! news and Extra but you can catch twenty four hour coverage of it with Nancy Grace and many other big news stations. I think it's a good thing that the public is knowledgeble about what happened to the king of pop, but does it necissarily need to be on every news station all day long, especilly Fox news and ABC. My grandma is really into the case and had it on while I was at her house and for the four hours I was at her house Nancy Grace was talking about it. I feel that as a worldwide news anchor for an evening news station she should be talking about more significant things than this trial and her appearances on dancing with the stars. I  feel like our idolization of celebrities and celebtrity news has made us lose sight or forget about what really is going on in the world. I mean I feel like I should be watching endless news coverage of the war overseas or even the stock market and the economy of us here in the USA.

Happy Artists

KiD CuDi
I think you have figured out he's one of my favorite musicians. There are plenty of his songs that just bring me up and make me smile CuDi Zone is one of my favorites its just about him being in his own zone, his own place his own mind where no one can touch him and he's at peace
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YbLKLU677g

Elvis Presley
he's the king after all he makes me think of my grandma who is also my best friend and my dad That's alright Mama in particular, it was one we listened to a lot when we went to Graceland and it was what he was singing when my grandma began to like him
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIWlWA1YTBw

Dean Martin
I remember always listening to Dean Martin in the car with my dad and boy we would have some long long car trips when we would drive That's amore stands out the most, it is just such a happy song and it brings me back to the absolute best memories that I have with my dad and sometimes those are hard to find
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHtdGJfVd2w&ob=av2e

Steve Miller Band
my mom was crazy about them back in her day and I have to say it rubbed off on me I love steve miller's voice and all the 70's guitar it always makes me happy and smile and think of the good times I had with my mom and whenever I miss her I find myself listening to them fly like an eagle is the one that reminds me of her the most my mom is a free spirit and I am too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1f7eZ8cHpM

Frank Ocean
He is someone I've recently discovered but I absolutely love his voice and he has some amazing metaphors and beats that just soothe me even if the stuff that he's rapping about isn't exactly positive it makes you think and feel happy in the sense that your life isn't that bad. I like this song Novacane it could have been in the sex and drugs catagory but I love it, he doesn't censor himself in anything he says or feels and I like that but I love the beat and his voice in this track

Music List #3

Still Blazin - Wiz Khalifa
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvfUCCbtHiw
Wiz Khalifa is marketed with weed he even has his own rolling papers so marijuana is very influential in his life and music. This is all this song is about but I still love it, Bob Marley was similar in that sense and he is an idol to many

Look back at Me - Trina
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OKxsWmcycg
this is literally all about sex I love this because Trina doesn't care what anyone thinks so if she wants to be in the business with the boys she's gotta get raunchy with them.

Rollin - Kid CuDi ft Jackie Chain
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeg1GRc4Fk4
Kid CuDi is also an artist who has shown and spoken freely about his drug use in his songs, this one is about rollin or taking ecstasy they also talk about weed, alcohol and cocaine and sex for that matter. It has an interesting view on the event they have been describing so I love this one too.

Passive Aggres-her - Wale
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67JFT6nKoRc
This is a sex song but with a deeper story to it, he loves the sex he has with a very passionate woman but she's "crazy" and extra aggressive and somewhat stalks him but still tries to stay with her.

Candy - Snoop Dogg E40 Mc Eiht Goldie Loc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxbD-fG0ILY
Seems like every rapper was a hustler and sold drugs at one point in their time, this is another song about a rapper bragging about how good their shit is and what they got at all times but hey if I was a hustler I would make a song to boost my business.

She don't want a man -Curren$y
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeETZUKWQzU
I like this song because it's true that women cheat, and this exposes a wife who steps out on her husband with him and how not all women are happy with a family and kids.

Dick pleaser -lil Wayne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EFS_r1OViA
LIl Wayne is pretty sexually expressive in a lot of his songs but this one just lays it all out on some of his relations with many women.

Smoke and Drive -Mike Posner Big Sean
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HoL8Fzbmns
This song is about smoking a blunt and driving around, not the smartest idea but a day in their life sounds pretty laid back.

Music Memories #1

When I was five was when all those big disney pop stars came out and please believe I was a fan for sure. I loved Britney Spears (and still do) she was exactly what satisfied my pop tart love. I loved Justin Timberlake and the rest of Nysnc as well, never was really into backstreet boys although my grandma wanted me to be. Christina Agularia was up there too.

I can't really say I had my own taste in music at ten, I remember listening to a lot of hip hop with my sister old school LL cool J, TLC, twista, ashanti, alliyah, early Jay Z, J. Lo, Nelly. I feel like I have come a long way since then although I was only ten. I also remember liking a lot of music my family played I spent a lot of my time with my grandparents so I know all those Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Bug Bopper and other classic 50's era songs. I also listened to a lot of Beastie Boys, Prince, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, B52's with my mom. Still love a lot of that music because it brings me back to more innocent times.

Around the time I was 15 I was kinda in between my scremo rock phase and all the hip hop I listen to now. I remember still liking bands like the used but at that time I was into weird techno rock like Mindless Self Indulgence and other techno music but I was beginning to start really getting into hip hop. I starting listening to a lot of Young Money (lil wayne, drake, tyga, etc) and some bay area hip hop because at the time jerkin music and the pack and stunnaman and young curt were still kinda cool. I feel like that has what brought me to like what I like now

music list #2

N****s in Paris - Jay Z and Kanye West
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXfrw_pSufY
I don't like the beat I don't like the message, to me this song is just about using media to get people to use their slang, and I'm not about that. Everyone always wants to play it too, I've never even heard the whole thing and I'm tired of it

Kim -Eminem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3tlPgLPdV8
This song is extremely offensive, it's so terrible to think that anyone has this much hate for someone and will put out a song with this and still take the woman back, I understand that he has issues with his wife and mom and thats defiantly not an excuse.

Jupiter Love -Trey Songz
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b0DMoPLIys
I hate this song, the beat the things he says it's just annoying to me because I don't like "slow jams" and my best friend insisted on playing it all the time.

bass down low -The cateracs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlCKoy_6Qtc
I really like this song, until it got over played and annoying

Runaway -Kanye West
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9eiufpHm5s
I can't stand this song, really I really really hate it. The beat on the piano is so basic and extremely annoying I feel if you're going to incorporate a piano in a hip hop song it should be better than this and the message is just awful, no way I'd ever be toasting to Mr. West for this.
